I hope the person doesn't get sacked for using company tools for such tasks :D

So guys'n'gals, do they run Home Alone and Die Hard on your local Tv channels yet? Can always tell its christmas when i see Brucies smile on tv.

Home Alone hasn't been on tv for a decade around here. I guess that finally belongs to the past.

Oh and by the way, am I the only one actively avoiding radio these days? Granted, I rarely listen to the radio (unless there's Eredivisie football on), but these days it's really hazardous.

I don't watch enough regular tv to answer your question, Peltz.

Re: radio, I only listen to it when I'm in the car, and I only listen to music. Ads and talk shows annoy the crap out of me. If I had a cd player or something in my car, I'd listen to that instead.

CD player?! That's so 90's man. Just link an MP3 player up to your radio (and/or get radio with an USB port).

I don't watch enough TV either (barely any) to know if Home Alone et al are already on. :(

I didnt know Home Alone was considered to be part of standard Christmas movie rotation?

If you havent watched A Christmas Story or National Lampoons Christmas Vacation 50 times on tv yet your doing it wrong.

hehe, freakin' Christmas story.

And yea, when I buy a stereo eventually, it'll have a usb mass storage attachment. I don't need a cd player. Though I'd like an HD radio tuner.

I've avoided the radio for the past 6 years, since rnb and hip hop became so popular that practically every station plays nothing but that  Unfortunately I can't avoid GameLive, the wonderful radio station streamed live to all GAME stores across the country... they don't even play mainstream christmas songs, like Merry Christmas Everybody or anything, it's all crappy xfactor winners from years previous. ARGH!

It is however officially christmas for me now. I've seen the coke advert with the trucks and my Dad's birthday was on Friday (his birthday weekend is when we used to put up the decorations at home so has always been the start of christmas for me). Still not in a very christmas mood though. Hard to be with hundreds of idiots to serve all day at work and nothing to look forward to christmas day because you can't visit your family.

I'm not a big fan of this holiday. Getting stuff is great and all, and giving stuff can be decent, but overall it's just an annoying holiday built for sales and profits. I much prefer Halloween or the 4th of July. I'm seriously considering creating a holiday to celebrate. One that'll always fall on a Saturday.

Halloween doesn't mean anything here, even though there is a huge marketing effort in the UK and Europe in order for us to embrace Halloween. Most intelligent people refuse to do so. :P

But I don't dig Christmas and the entire holiday season much either. A few days ago I was forced to listen to "the 12 days of Christmas" in its entirety as I was waiting for a friend near a Christmas market...if I'd been wearing a belt of explosives, I would have blown myself then and there. I wondered in the supermarket too: won't these people become suicidal after having to work day in day out to the same christmas soundtrack? At least Pev is still holding up!!

ON a less whiny side, I had yesterday off and I will be off from this Friday to somewhere early January. 2nd or 3rd - I forget.

Lots of games will be played.

I've had several jobs where listening to christmas music on repeat wasn't an option. To be honest, most of the time it's just blocked out. Though occasionally it'll break through the protective barrier to directly assault my mind.

I have no vacation. Shiny made sure of that. So I'm stuck until January at the earliest. And it sucks.

On a positive note, I ran yesterday after work (it was warm out) and had a most enjoyable run. Perhaps it's the idea that I'm actually running away from my horrible job that kept me running. So anyway, that was my major accomplishment yesterday, 12.5 km of feet on pavement.

Heh, congrats man! I look to be in decent shape (ie not fat and good build) but underneath that I am a lazy, probably cholestorol-packing, slob. You're probably a lot healthier than I am, and in better general shape. :P I just hate sports that involve no "real" competition, ie where you're not beating anyone but yourself or a time.

Without the gratification of dominance it isn't all that appealing to me. The bully in me I suppose.

Surely you have the 25th and 1st off though?

Author:  Satis [ Tue Dec 15, 2009 9:15 am ]
Post subject:

yea, I get those two days off. And probably a 'short' day on the 24th and 31st as well.

As for the competition thing, I'm somewhat competing with a friend. Not directly but more by comparing distance and time. I agree... without that I don't think I could have kept running up for so long. I mostly despise it. Though the runner's high can be most enjoyable.
