Just for J....the sandwich application. :P One pic taken during the process, the other one with the final order. And I didn't know you were a Kempenzoon now ;) Well, at least you're still part of the province of Antwerp.

Satis, is the economic crisis the only thing that's holding you back from applying? Surely, with your experience by now you could find a better-paid/more interesting job not too far from home? I mean, IT isn't exactly a declining sector.

Great, now i'm hungry. Btw: you add butter and mayo and ketchup? I'm slightly less hungry now.

I'm a born 'kempenzoon' btw, getting closer to my roots now.

Oh and the topic title isn't really appropiate anymore for Ox.

A sandwich without butter and mayonaise isn't a real sandwich! :P But ok, the ketchup is a little decadent.

Ah, I always figured you were from around Leuven (which isn't completely false but y'know). And the topic title might not be all that appropriate for me now, but I'm sure I'll end up hating some part of it at some point. Besides, other people may still hate theirs and vent here. :)

I dont really eat sandwiches anymore but I found that a few individual things worked really well (with me anyway).

- slightly toasted naan bread + mayo + chicken
- pesto as a spread
- sausages flattened and fried and its juice used as spread
- dip 1 side of the bread in olive oil and fry until slightly crispy
- ciabatta bread is second only to naan bread
- grill bacon, do not fry it

obviously they're all separated. they dont make part of 1 freakin huge sandwich!!!

Mm me gots to try some of Derf's recipes...sound delicious. And awfully fatty, too. :)

For the record: in Dutch, when we say 'sandwich', we refer to a sort of baguette. Something like this

I know that sandwich is a much broader term in English. But for example this

Is not a sandwich in Dutch. :) They're boterhammen (godverdomme!).
