I'm planning to set aside an hour or two on something creative i've been wanting to do for years. ![]() Anyone have any tips? ![]() |

I would suggest taking the picture outside in the normal daylight without using the flash on the camera, or really really soft flash if its a compact camera (opposed to dslr). Now if the tile is attached to the wall then i'm afraid you have to cut a piece out of the wall so you can take it outside and snap a picture of it. ![]() |

Definitely need as much natural light as possible. Reflective tiles? Matt? |

Yeah, reflective, which is a bitch. And stuck on the wall, which is also problematic ![]() After that ill need to use Gimp or Photoshop or something. I need to boost the contrast of the photo, then figure out how to do selective tinting. |

I really don't understand gimp. It seems great for complex stuff, but the simple things (like for instance trying to move a selection) I can never get to work. |

Try Paint.net It does a lot of easy to intermediate stuff, though it's no Photoshop. |
