If you guys don't have iGoogle as your homepage, they you suck bigstyle. I just found this out now and i'm finding it one of the most useful things ever for a PC. In one screen, I can see email from different accounts, work a calculator, work an imperial / metric converter, weather forecast, football scores, etc.... I'm very impressed and happy. ![]() |

Yeah lol been using it for years and love it. Change it when my needs change, I do hate the gmail app just coz it doesn't keep me signed in forever, but I only use that as a junk mail account so I just don't bother with it anymore ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, Mole, that's a good point about the desktop. I remember at univesity once seeing the concept of a desktop much like igoogle. Calculators, calendars, and gadgets stewn around a room. I was thinking, "shit that would be awesome". Finally, they did it! ![]() Btw guys, long time no speak. |

What is this thing? ![]() Aren't all those features easily replaced by using a properly organized set of favorites? ![]() |

Well yeah, but that takes a click or two more which is exhausting. ![]() |

This way you'll have to return to your homepage all the time. ![]() |

No. Example: On my Igoggle I got a bunch of games news that I cant view at work but I can view the news through Igoogle. Plus you can see your gmail, calendar, quotes for the day, what ever. I also cant bring my favorites to work(cant use firefox) |

Oh ok, but my job allows me to browse pretty much every site I can think of, so it doesn't really make my life easier. Apart from Derf's comment about needing an extra click, of course. ![]() |

Yea, I've been using igoogle for years. I keep gmail, news sites, and online comics on it mainly. The most positive aspect is you can see it all at a glance... no having to go to any page to see if there's something new. I typically just alt-home whenever i'm done looking at a web page to get to igoogle, then catch up on anything that's newly posted. It's practically part of my workflow. It works off any RSS feed as well, so for those more development-minded, you can build your own igoogle gadgets. There's one for these forums (though you have to enter it manually). I think it's http://forums.clankiller.com/rss.php. Not that you need it, this forum doesn't have enough traffic to warrant it. |

Pfft ox shush, it's easier than favourites! Back when I was playing GW I'd got it set so that the updates were on the iGoogle page, along with GW news. As well as that I had updates for some other game (forget now), I think my gmail inbox and a few other things. So on one page I could see anything that might interest me. If there were no new GW updates then I wouldn't bother wasting time going to their homepage to check if and what they were, I could see them right there in short form and open them directly to get further details. Mine is quite boring right now, got a weather forecast thing on there which shows them for cities you choose (got Hull and Birmingham, me and my parents) plus forecast for the new few days, got a 'to do' list, and 'how to of the day' (often get bored and read the more... unusual ones of those) but I've had all sorts, ranging from timezone converters, joke of the day, rss feeds for forums I visit, game updates, 'The N00b' updates... it's great! |

wtf? How many of those sites do you even visit weekly? ![]() Man...I feel like a dinosaur now. A chrome-using dinosaur. ![]() Pev, didn't the GW updates just show up in-game anyway? That sounds an awful lot like Derf's "extra click is exhausting me" theory. ![]() |

I read most of those sites every day. As for visiting them... I rarely visit them. I don't need to. They're on my iGoogle. ![]() |
