Gotta let off some steam.

This is just another of the many confoundingly frustrating idiocies Paypal has managed to reveal about itself. I don't blame the monkeys behind the keyboard, bashing out those dumb emails that fail to solve even the most simple of problems. I blame those ferociously moronic individuals in the Operations department, responsible for tolerating such a comically flawed system.

Makes me really ask myself... How the hell did we manage to get a man on the moon ... and back?!!!

Strangely failing to figure out how to close a case that I opened for an eBay item that never got delievered, I contact Paypal asking them to shed some light on the "how-to".

haha, I feel your pain. I cancelled a credit card once... 6 months later suddenly I got bills where I owed money on it (due to a gay ass fraud protection thing I stupidly signed up for). How the hell do you bill a closed account to protect that account from fraud? I closed it.

So I'm fighting it, a month rolls over, and I get another month's overdue charges.

So, anyway, eventually it was "straightened out", though more than likely it went against my credit rating. Needless to say I will never give Capital One another dime of my money. Ever.

lol...man, that sucks Derfmeister. Especially loved the part where they thank you for contacting them as an answer to your question. :roll:

When I left my previous job I still had a debt of 300 bucks/250 euros on my (company) credit card...but

a) I had to return the credit card to company HR before leaving
b) I arranged for debt letters to be sent to my company address but as I left the company, I didn't have an address there anymore nor could I check if something arrived for me.

Obviously, I don't want to find out in a year's time that I accumulated a massive debt in penalties for late payment, so I spent 2 weeks contacting them and -hopefully- resolved the issue. Well, it better be resolved, or I paid 250 euro for jack. :cry:

Haha...well, there isn't a whole lot to say about it really. I resigned from my job in the Czech Republic 2 months ago, then worked off the remainder of my contract and took a little holiday. Then I packed my bag, flew back to Belgium and started looking for work here (which I am still doing atm).

Technically speaking I could have stayed in Prague until the 30th of April because I already paid my rent, but given that I am looking for work here in ze Motherland that would have been...unwise. With interviews and all.

I actually flew back to Belgium for two days a few weeks ago for a job interview as a game designer, heh. Unsurprisingly, my technical background came up short but they were (I think) happy with my CRPG knowledge and history. Had a great chat, designed a dungeon, good fun. I was actually applying for a job as a dialogue writer but that position was already filled...hence the game designer thing. I was told that positions more suited to my skills were opening up in May...so we'll see how that works out (if it does at all).

Currently looking for work in copywriting, translating, what have you. Also looking at more low-lvl but games-related jobs abroad (Spain, Germany) but atm I want to stay in Belgium for...personal reasons. Could change really quickly tho.


Why did I leave? A combination of reasons really:

- the pay. less than half what I would make on a Belgian job. No problem as long as you stay in the CR, but my savings mean nothing in Western Europe. Not cool for the long run.

- lot of co-workers I got along with left or were going to leave

- company wasn't very respectful of its employees

- work didn't really interest me (anymore)


So yeah, was time to leave. :) Worked there for over a year, so it's not like I'm job(s)hopping either...was a nice experience tho. Met a lot of cool people, had a blast most of the time, great beer, very pretty girls, beautiful city, low crime rate and easy-going.

As for me disappearing: I didn't have internet at home and I can't combine work and forums... :( I am truly and utterly handicapped when it comes to any sort of multitasking. :/

As for a life...I did have one in Prague, part of the reason why I wasn't online anymore. But here...heh. Surrounded by married friends with lives and houses. Nothing to do. Ever. :( (I lie: there's also a group of friends with no jobs and artistic lives who get drunk every evening...but that's almost as unappealing as the opposite way)


On a random note, I wished the plural of house were hice. Way cooler.
