Post Toast to a good friend - sad to see him go
Ok y'all sad topic here but a friend of satis and I was shot and killed Friday. He was a great guy who loved to read and discuss books, drink good beer, watch the Simpsons, and talk politics in a light way. He introduced me to sushi - real sushi that is. And he always made me feel better when I talked with him. Here is the article for those who wish to read. Please make a toast next time you are drinking a good cold beer for Mark Nix - he will be very missed.

Seems like he enjoyed life and was a really nice guy the way you describe him, it's always sad that a good guy has to go.

I must admit that I am somewhat surprised that you guys were friends with a cop, but no matter. My late condolences to you and his family and loved ones. :(

meh, he wasn't a cop to us, just a fellow gamer. The cop thing was really very secondary, just like I'm sure you don't consider me a tech guru and web developer. :P

Yea sad to say - but nah he knew who I was and what all I have done in my life and didn't care. I would get mad and frustarted and next thing I know he and I would be biting the crap out of each other to see who could take it more..... I always lost..... he was a good guy and honestly I am having one hell of a time getting over this. Every night I try to go to sleep and happy times go through my head nonstop. And even though they were happy times they are sad because he is not there anymore. And damnit there just are not enough good people in life. But yea I had no clue he was a cop the first time we actually hung out after playing games with him for a while. I remember calling him up drunk as hell in downtown dallas where he was a cop and he told me to go to this bar talk to the bouncer and he would take good care of me type of thing. Is was so sweet! I mean he could have had me arrested for public intox for sure - but he didn't. Hell he was supposed to show me how to "properly" spin out a car around turns he said i braked to soon and should have floored it more for better effect - what kind of cop does that?

Damn, it is just sad - you all stay safe cause man seriously not enough good people.

Gotcha @ the cop thing. I didn't mean to be insensitive about it but you know that. And yeah it can be over any moment, imagine being caught in the Virginia Uni bloodbath thingie...nobody ever expected that but that doesn't mean it isn't possible.

Problem is, it would be a lot safer for me not to stand up for girls or old ladies at night when some thugs are bothering them, but I can't really do that can I? So either I let them tom their own devices or risk a knife between my ribs. Great choice. :(
