On the several sites

- http://www.typingmaster.com/individuals ... oading.asp

Mr. GFreeman has tested his one-two-finger shaking of keyboard and will post the results later. What about varying of your wpm / cpm?

Well, the top one doesn't work and the bottom one is downloadable, and as such I can't be arsed with it.

fuck downloading shit, and the other don't work in firefox. but last time i used the mavis beacon typing program thingy i got free back in 99 i was averaging 56 wpm with my 'proper' touch typing...

hehe its great fun freaking ox out with the webcam when i type out a huge message to him on msn in 0.2 seconds flat, all the time staring at the screen... mwahaha

edit: did it in IE. I'd like to point out the inaccuracy is because I just can't do double spacing. It's retarded, and making myself remember to do it just wasn't happening. Mistake-wise, I actually got to "the host team, France, and the visitors" before the 60 seconds ran out, and only made two mistakes, so if you ignore the retarded double spacing, I was bloody accurate. lol.

Percentage Accuracy : 14%
Percentage Inaccuracy : 85%
Characters per minute : 375 cpm
Characters per second : 6 cps
Words per minute : 77 wpm
Words per second : 1 wps
Total Speed status : Too Good
Overall Accuracy : Very Bad

I am. And as soon as I do, 42894321 pop ups land :/

Anyway, I'm going to try, but I'm much faster at typing what I think, than what I read. So Don't expect good results.

There are many other tests on the web. Please, try keywords "typing speed", "wpm", "cpm" etc.

And one rule - the longer you type (duration of the test) - the results are more accurate.

Well, this isn't going well - my accuracy on my first try was 50% this time i get

Percentage Accuracy : 16%
Percentage Inaccuracy : 83%
Characters per minute : 340 cpm
Characters per second : 5 cps
Words per minute : 64 wpm
Words per second : 1 wps
Total Speed status : Too Good
Overall Accuracy : Very Bad

Wtf is up with double spaces! ARG!

EDIT: I googled, but I'm tired. If anyone can find a freetype typing test (IE where I get to ramble about whatever I want to ramble about) lemme know.

just to be fair, the first time I did the first one, I had an accuracy around mole's. I wasn't sure how it measured, so I screwed off typos and just kept going. The second time, I backspaced every time I typoed (which is how I usually type) and got my 100%. I make alot of errors, but even fixing them I still type like a madman. :p

A madman? The Ginis' recorder had 212wpm some time ago. :P And for the space stuff - I had to visit the dictionary first in order to see what are the periods

If you are tired, Mole. Break it now up, and try again tomorrow. You are not going to make your best if you are too tired to search for some site.

Btw:

http://www.typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed.php
http://www.siteuri.ro/dvorak/contester.php

The second one seems pretty good to me.

I don't correct most of my errors because spell checker will get that anyway. no point in slowing down to fix them.

96% accuracy and 62 wpm on the spider contester over 1 minute and 30 seconds on the predermined text contest.

70 wpm on free type, but it doesn't spell check.

Well i'm typing on a laptop qwerty while i used to type azerty the whole time, which is especially hard with , . and numbers for instance.

But i'll give it a go sometime soon. I'm not a slowpoke, just will make a lot of errors probably and i'm not used to typing much anymore, so speed will be not as it should be either.

Btw i learned to type on one of those really old typing machines, where you had to use a lot of force to be able to type something with your pink. Those machines just rule! :P
