Bush: 'God told me to invade Iraq' (and more)
Riiiiight....and this man is the leader of the most powerful nation in the world?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressr ... bush.shtml
 | | | | Quote: President George W Bush told Palestinian ministers that God had told him to invade Afghanistan and Iraq - and create a Palestinian State, a new BBC series reveals.
In Elusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs, a major three-part series on BBC TWO (at 9.00pm on Monday 10, Monday 17 and Monday 24 October), Abu Mazen, Palestinian Prime Minister, and Nabil Shaath, his Foreign Minister, describe their first meeting with President Bush in June 2003.
Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"
Abu Mazen was at the same meeting and recounts how President Bush told him: "I have a moral and religious obligation. So I will get you a Palestinian state." | | | | |
This sounds a lot like 'the neighbours' dog made me do it'.

I'm not sure I believe that, coming from an Arab (no offense to Arabs, but most of them don't like us too much). Talking about your Christian beliefs in god (especially in memory of the crusades) is a bad idea in the Arab world.
Anyway...maybe he is that dumb, but until I hear it from a more reliable source, I don't believe it.

Mm, I understand the reservations, but the Palestinian PM has no benefit from 'soiling' Bush's name...the US are one of the major forces behind the Palestinian state after all. But meh. I just assume(d) that the BBC checks it sources...it's a state channel after all, it doesn't need sensational news to keep running.
And I have no doubts that Bush would be capable of such a fuck-up.

Not entirely surprised. Obviously, the genuinity of this evidence has to be a bit more substantial. If the BBC release anything on this i will strongly be encouraged to believe it.
Anyway, we all know how fucked up it is that Bush is actually president. This is just another big reason.

retardedly religious people should be castrated and crucified upside down.
Then we should use their blood to summon satan, lord of this earth and the underworld, lord of the flies and lies, demagogue of the lower realms, so that he can claim his world in the name of his children.
err...I mean... I have no need for hokey religions or superstitions.

Satinism? My guess is it's about the worship of Satin.
Satanism, on the other hand (*cough*) is the inverse of Christianity.
Actually, there are different flavors. LeVay's Satanism evolved from Christianity. Whereas the Christian faith basically says that all these sins abound and must be avoided, LeVay maintains that these 'sins' are what makes people people, and to indulge your desires and revel in your humanity. Thus it's satanism, since it's the reverse of the Christian ideal.
There are other flavors that are more the 'standard' conception of satanism, with animal/human sacrifice and all that crap, but that's not 'mainstream' satanism.
I'd recommend reading Anton LeVay's Satanic Bible to anyone mildly interested. It makes a very interesting read (much more so than the standard bible). Even if you don't believe it. Which I don't, since it seems to imply the existence of satan. Then again, taken fully metaphorically, the satanic bible is a much closer match to my ideals than the Christian bible.

Interesting. I hate it when religion goes too far and starts suggesting the existence of god. I feel religions only value is its philosophy of life. Then again, if it were that, it wouldnt be called religion.

yea. Unfortuanetly, school of philosophy aren't tax exempt like religions are. On a positive note, Satanism is recognized by the US government as a real religion. You can start a church of satan and get all the benefits.

Looking at LeVay's definition it sounds a lot like hedonism
