There was a research about gifts like that by ppl like Gates of late, which showed that the amount of money they gave away is really peanuts compared to their actual possession. To that extent that your average workman's family making an average donation would surpass Gates handing out a few mille.

But then, regardless of Gates' motives or generosity, it's still a lot of money for 'average' people. So love or hate him? I say, treat him indifferently but respect him the money he gave.


As for Mole and his Xbox...awh, hehe. Hope that gets solved soon.

Right, well yesterday, My XBox 360 arive, Just as I was leaving for work, so I dashed it quickly back up 6 sets of stairs (3 floors) and sat it down. Got back from work, set it up, got over 1 hitch of me not plugging the AV cable in correctly, set the pads up (wireless) and was away.

The graphics on Perfect Dark Zero are nice, but don't seem to be stretching the power of the 360 in anyway. Pev has played Kameo, you'll have to ask her about that.

It's had more than it's 4 hours of gameplay (which some people reported overheating at) and it seems ok so far, and no disk meltage yet either. But I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Can I just say two things though.

1: This console, is the Dreamcast, except in the right time zone. Seting up my Xbox live account I couldn't help but get nostalgic about the old DC. Ah, I loved that thing.

and 2: It reminds me of (one of the reasons) why I love consoles so much... It's like, on my PC, I can play most the games, just not at the best rates/graphics/settings. Then I get an upgrade, and I can play the same games, they just look nice. When I buy a new console, I get the whole "what am I going to buy next?!" and start to feel as though I'm in new territory. Ah, I'm all warm and fuzzy now

Glad you're enjoying your machine man. I hope the promises of games that take better advantage of the technical capacities of the xbox ring true, in that case the future is bright for you and Pev.

Hope your machine won't meltdown in the near future...though it would be kinda funny and you'd have warranty anyway so no harm done.

The overheating was something about the power supply. But because we Euros use a different Voltage the Americans we also have different power supplies.

My mate's getting one in Jan so I have to wait till Easter.

we had someone ring us at work today. he wanted to know if we sold power cables separately. (we don't). Reason? Because his sound on his 360 is a bit weird, so he rang up Microsoft help desk and spoke to Nigel. Nigel told him that weird sound was due to a faulty power supply.

Moral of the story: never ever trust Nigel.

you should see the AC adapter. It is litteraly the size of a house brick. I'll take a photo, and show you at some point.

btw im also loving the 360 though the pads aren't as good as the original Xbox ones (not the crappy S controller, the original original )
