You're referring to my link? Read the small print.
I don't understand people will pay that much for something trivial as gaming. And certainly not to give it to their kids for Christmas. How are children supposed to learn the value of money if they get everything from their parents just by moaning?

Or maybe some brochures or pamphlets containing information about AIDS? Do they even know what it is?

Well as long as the church keeps saying AIDS is a punishment from god and safe sex doesn't prevent it, they won't. The best thing to do is to make religion illegal in that region.

I'd love to see that happen. But I do doubt very mcuh that its all the churches in the region, just some of the fundamentalist ones.

Off course it's only the fundamentalist ones. That's why I say it should be abolished in the entire region.
It's Catholic policy. Especially with that clown Ratzinger in charge now.

Yes, Catholocism is a serious throwback to the middle ages. In a world full of unwanted children and STDs, they're still telling people to act like morons. *grumbles*

I just love the reference in the Meaning of Life to catholicism. "Every sperm is sacred"

Hi - freedom of religion here. You know, freedom of religion works both ways in that, your free to not have a religion and I am free to practice one.
Fact is, if people would stop having sex, AIDS would stop, the people who currently have AIDS would die and the disease would go away. That doesnt mean however we should stop looking for a cure. Its just a hypothetical.
Why do most conversations end up bashing religion? I mean your blaiming AIDS on catholism instead of people who cant keep their pants up. Way to attack the problem head on.

People in Europe have plenty of sex but there isn't a lot of AIDS here. Telling people not to have sex doesn't work. Telling people to have safe sex does work. As long as the Catholic church keeps telling safe sex is as bad as sex it's committing genocide.

Partly its the situation in Africa. Women are promiscous because the only way they can sometimes care for their families is too be prosititutes. Anyway 11b I'm not particularly anti-religious as I ended up arguing it wan't religion but blind conservatism (i.e. stupidity) that was the problem in My Little Rant Against Conservatism. I agree with Arathorn tho, education and economic success in Africa would do a world of good to stop this. Asking people to stop might just not work as its slightly to strict. Carrots always work better than sticks in other words.

yea....if the carrots don't end up being eaten by the fat pigs in power. I think Africa is one of the single largest concentrations of corrupt governments in the world. I don't really feel like invading each and every one, but it seems like something like that is damned near necessary. I mean, it's the 21st century, but we still have countries in Africa where the rich live in castles and the poor live in grass huts.
I say we leave it to the EU. Finish your little union thing, raise a combined army, and invade Africa for the good of humanity.
