hehe, he's funny
I prefer Bill Bailey tho- his kraftwerk version of the Hokey-cokey is legend. I wouldn't find 11bs examples funny cos I'll be groaning. The British do set high standards when it comes to comedy (yes 11b you do have some OK comedians- Bill Hicks mainly)- anyone heard of Russell Howard- he's is beast- came on and improvised through the whole performance when he performed at York, he has a strange and twisted imagination- imagine what mischief you could get up to if you could make anything cum with a touch. I would love to see that happen.

What some people consider high standards other consider droll. Let's just say the Brits have a ' different' sense of humor.

Joe Pasquale, never heard of him. Dropping ping pong balls I dont really find funny, unless someone gets hit in the nuts with it.
I thought all British people thought men dressed as women was funny in itself. Thats the whole part of the joke, is that they are dressed like women.

I generally don't really like stand up comedians. I mean, there definitely are great moments, and you often can see those on the internet in short clips, but when go and see them "live" you also have to sit through a whole lot of half-funny or even painfully unfunny jokes. In the end, the trade-off usually is pretty poor...simply because most funny people I know use situations that occur and interact with it. They way they do it and the speed they do it with is what makes it funny.
With a comedian you have someone who has to make a whole lot of people laugh with absolutely nothing but a mic and a stage. That's a rip-off.

lol yes 11b, dropping a ping pong ball isn't funny, but when read in context the point was a good comedian can get an audience so worked up they find ANYTHING funny.
Sometimes I'd find men dressed as women funny. But never hilarious. It's kind of a "oh no, why didn't i see that coming *smile groan*" humour.

Which I find incredible annoying. I like Lee Evans sometimes tho- his routine of Bohemian Rhaspody is so funny.

hehe...something about little kids getting beaned in the face makes me smile. I think it's funny.
As for the quoted thing...very english humor. I find it amusing, but not hilarious by any means.

Black books is amazing sometimes. One episode Manny is afraid of temperatures of over 88 celsius cos he's got Dave's Syndrom. Bernard then fools Manny into wearing big fluffy coats, sticking his feet in the oven, anyother way possible to get Manny warmer, in the end Manny goes on a rampage.
Very funny tho, more subtle than American humour in my opinion.
