 Re: Funny Stuff II
That is quite possibly the best thing I have ever seen, in my life, and I'm now ready to die

Man, that Crysis suit is pretty cool... but yea, I wouldn't wear it. Ever. And I certainly wouldn't spend a month building it.

 Re: Funny Stuff II
I didn't notice the Crysis suit buried in the posts there! Nice!

Christine O'Donnell compilation: Video and textI really wonder how the Democrats are going to manage losing the next (regional? I never know what you Americans vote for each week) elections. You know they should have an easy job against those Tea Party nutjobs, but after all, Democrats are able to fuck up anything that appears easy (just think of the Bush jr. re-election).

 Re: Funny Stuff II
Haha, I love the Tea Party. What a bunch of loonies.
The sad thing is, the fact that they are crazy fundamentalists doesn't really weaken them much. Since they're still the Republican candidate and the normal Republican voters (ie non-Tea Partiers) usually won't vote for a Democrat instead they may actually rake in a lot of votes from their non-crazy party members, regardless of Tea Parties.
I must say that it does scare me a little bit that some of these people actually get elected, and not just for lousy local seats. And it baffles me that some of the (mostly) low-to-middle class members are rabidly campaigning against general health care and for tax cuts for the rich. I mean, you don't have to necessarily adopt a political orientation that embraces your particular place in society, but to actually be militant about things that hurt you is pretty retarded.

 Re: Funny Stuff II
Yes but the battle is usually won in the middle, among those voters who are not a member of one of the two parties.

 Re: Funny Stuff II
universal healthcare = good. universal healthcare as pushed by politicians with hidden agendas and millions of dollars of campaign contributions from big pharmaceutical companies and health insurers... not so good. I know that if this thing goes live, my health premiums are going up, my health care quality is going down, and I'll lie awake at night known that Pablo the illegal immigrant and his 9 kids are getting free health care at my expense.

 Re: Funny Stuff II
lol Well I don't think you really care that much about what Pablo is getting as such, only the fact that you may be paying for it. I know it's not exactly a great fit historically for American society but what you describe is pretty much a problem for any society with some sort of extended health care/social welfare. Since I'm currently working and healthy I'm also paying for lowlives with 7 kids who refuse to work and spend their money on alcohol every day (next to the people who are actually deserving of welfare, of course). But that's not really the way to look at it. Which isn't to say that we shouldn't criticise welfare systems for their flaws, like how they fail to make some people work or take responsbility. In Belgium for example you can technically speaking be unemployed indefinitely and you'll always keep getting unemployment...not a fortune by any means, but it's still a farce when there are so many unskilled jobs that need to be filled. In general, I think the biggest challenge of our time is getting people educated and motivated so that they would be willing to see the benefits of working for money and being a productive part of society (and yes that's rich coming from someone who works for the government ). Because I believe the biggest reason why this isn't happening is because most of those people are pretty retarded/uneducated and can't take a long-term view on their lives. Erh...sorry. I'll try to post funny stuff now
