it's eerie how much Gabe reminds me of myself. Minus the Barbie and My Little Pony games.
for those of you who played ME (and remembered ANYTHING about the game ):

Shiny may be amused by this
Considering I kinda forced her to stop reading her fantasy fluff and read the entire Dune series.

Heh - yea I was reading easily a book every day or two now I have been reading that 6 book series for umm probably like 3-4 months. /sigh. Almost complete though so I can get back to reading other things. It's funny because I love buying books and get yelled at for not reading as fast as I buy, yet I would probably be thought with all I bought by now if not for someone forcing me to read his selection for me.
I get what the series meant for him, but, for me it is not so great. I mean you get attached to a character and then the next book they are no longer there. So then half the book later you finally get attached to another set of characters, then next book THEY are not there. It is like OK I get that this spans a huge amount of time so people die, etc. but come on I understand politics and how they make lasting impressions on society. I also get those ideas get warped with power etc., as time goes on so they may end up completely different that they started out. Blah blah.

The Dune books are great. I grew up off the 80's movie and still consider it a solid must see sci-fi. I then read the book later. Havent read all the books.
IMO best fantasy book series ever was Elric series by Michael Moorcock. I've since lost all the books but plan on rebuying them. The books are not fantasy they are ultra dark fantasy. Satis you would probably love them.

and btw, in WOW,the Lich Kings sword is totally a rip off of Stormbringer.

thanks for the recommendation. We may have to check that out. You like really dark fantasy? Have you ever heard of the Song of Ice and Fire? It's incomplete, unfortunately, and the guy's been promising the next book int he series for like 5 freakin' years, so it may never end. But it's pretty good... really dark, everyone freakin' dies, usually gruesomely.
