Peltz, that was a very nice mini-manifesto. I very much agree with what you wrote (even though the army is hardly one of my personal goals, but to each their own

). I hope you - and I - can put it into results in the rest of our lives too, because sometimes it gets easy to settle in a situation or job that you know is bad for you. I should know.
I want to keep on learning and doing new things. But first I need to get myself out of this mess of a personal situation.
I can agree with that. Still, I think quite a few of these people aren't blaming other people or institutions for their misfortune. If you turn it around: I'm sure a lot of them are blaming themselves for fucking up things that really were/are out of their control, effectively crippling them. And yeah, if they blame themselves or not is essentially their 'choice', but it's not always that easy - a poor or distorted self image can haunt the best people. As for the guy being unable to deal with society: an sich that's not the big problem. I'm sure he got the gist of it after a while, being a smart guy and not being actually socially handicapped, just completely unfamiliar with parts of society. But you don't get that many chances in most higher institutions. McDonalds will always hire, clubs will need bouncers, construction yards need workmen and the army will always hire grunts. But in college, politics, higher management and the likes you only get a few breaks and you gotta try and seize them. Which can be hard if you're not adjusted to the environment, if not impossible.
Anyway, I guess we sort of agree, but with different accents wrt personal responsibility. That's cool.
