I have a good question. Givin the recent events in France, the lady who was caught on fire, the man who was beat to death.
If you where living in that neighborhood where all the rioting is going on, how would you think you would feel about gun control now? Would you feel any different? Would you feel safer with a weapon in your house?
For me. If I lived there, and I saw some shitsack beating my car, he wouldnt get very far with a bullet hole through his face. And all those rioters would think twice about setting my nieghborhood on fire after i capped a couple of of them. Obivoulsy the police werent doing crap.

France - France has issues. France has had issues for a long time. They xenophobes. They're afraid of the outside world. They won't allow outside cultural influence to spoil their 'utopia'. I think this xenophobia has probably caused an isolation of immigrants, with them ending in virtual ghettos. With an unemployment rate like that, you're looking at a poor, underpriveleged class with no hope of bettering themselves. Damned straight there're going to be problems. But the French did it to themselves...maybe now they'll pay more attention to their immigrants.
Michael Moore is a liberal bastard who likes to make up lies to further his own agenda. Check out some of the inconsistencies in his 'documentaries' if you want to. He conveniently twists the truth to match his view of the world.

I dont understand this
http://www.guardian.co.uk/frontpage/sto ... 65,00.html
But yet after a hard night of rioting they go back home....thats in France?
Know how stupid that is? Thats like me moving to Russia and chanting "I HATE RUSSIA!"

Yes I would feel very secure with every damn moron in the neighbourhood owning a gun.
More guns only bring an escallation of violence, and the ones left inbetween are my grandparents.
The people you quote mostly didn't come to France, their parents and even grandparents did, those people were born in France, and regarded second class citizens since birth.

If I were in the middle of a huge riot with people setting each other on fire and shit, I'd take my gun and sit in my living room. If anyone decided to try and let themselves into my house, I'd perforate them.
What I wouldn't do (but some people seem to be inferring) is go outside and just shoot people. When there's a very real chance of being suddenly killed, rioters tend to be a bit more careful. The ones that aren't careful are shot, either by each other, the police, or me. Besides, I'd rather have the option to defend myself. I can take 10 people out with a handgun...no way in hell could I take out 10 people with a baseball bat.
Maybe there'll be another French revolution. :p

Concerning gun control. I would feel safer with no guns. We've been here before.
Concerning the chanting. Perhaps they are enraged due to undelivered promises or false expectations?

so you would feel safer knowing that you and your neighbors could do nothing to protect yourself and property from rioters in the streets?
You are f*cking crazy!

I would feel safer because i know none of the rioters will have guns.
10000 armed rioters cause more death than 10000 unarmed rioters.
I wouldnt say that theres NOTHING i could do. I could fight or flee. What else do you want to do? Roll a D20 for a persuade check?

just because I have a match-grade rifle, a bipod, a scope, and 500 rounds of ammo doens't mean I'll be laying on my roof waiting for some fool to do something stupid.

Yeah but I'm quite sure my granny don't. In the meantime, criminals have a better reason to own a gun then a law-abiding citizen.

But it depends on the criminal, some of them would only use it for gang feuds, its unlikely that they would cause problems by going on a killing spree. Anyway, as Derf said, we've been here before and no matter what the arguments, we are not going to change anyones opinion.

if guns are legal, you can opt to not have one. :p
Anyway, supposedly the riots are dying down. We'll see what the French government does regarding this...whether they'll make it better or worse.
