yea, it's cool... most people don't like death metal growling. The vocalist is female... That's awesome and quite rare in death metal.
Anyway...how about some Massive Attack? I think this would be more to people's liking.

A song I recently heard again from Dutch symphonic rock band Within Temptation. It's pretty good, especially the female singer.

I was kinda cool with that massive attack song until the vocals started. Just totally lost me after that.
Definitely not into the other one either. Sorry bud, your tastes are just too poppy for me.

Massive Attack is great, perhaps you should try listening to it again in a different mood. And the vocals are one of their strengths, they often succeed in finding the right singer.
Some more:

Being on the subject of electronica with great vocal performance, Fatboy Slim with a sampled Jim Morrison poem:

I'm normally more into the quirky side of electronic music, like Luke Vibert:

And I don't like Within Temptation either, far too poppy for my taste.

ok...
I like angel, I like teardrop, I'm ok with Live with me (zomg at chick chugging liqour), bird of prey is ok, not so hot on I love acid, don't much like Luke Vibert (too experimental for my tastes).
Are you familiar with Download? It's a band from Cevin Key of Skinny Puppy... more experimental electronic/industrial. I'm not so big on it, but Luke Vibert reminds me somewhat of the style.

So I'm pretty majorly digging Rammstein's latest album (it's been out for a few months). Especially the song Pussy, which is about what you probably think it's about. The music video is awesome. Here's the censored version.

If you can find the uncensored version and are not offended by X-rated content, definitely check it out. And it is truly x-rated. The version above blurs the fun parts.

Cool. We're seriously thinking about venturing to Quebec in a few months to see them at the Quebec music festival. Not that I'm a big fan of the French Canadians or anything, but that's the closest that Rammstein is coming to us. I don't think they're a big fan of the US for some reason.

Rammstein have their roots in far-leftish skinhead metal, which is part of the reason why they're not too keen on the US I guess. And I can't imagine the general public in the US would be all too happy with their smorgasbord of tongue-in-cheeck-but-explicit sex, uprising against public order and drugs references either. Or "get" it. Otoh, there's probably enough of an alternative market to cater too.
I like Rammstein but wouldn't pay to see a concert. Not because they're not awesome, but because I think concerts are hideously overpriced mostly. Some of my favs:

yea, those are some good songs. The Sonne video is great.
Some other good ones

Regarding the small-mindedness of America, I disagree. The fact there are 300 million of us makes generalizations a bit difficult. You could say that may be true for 90% of america, but that still leaves 30 million people... about 3 times the population of Belgium. America has a huge market for underground and alternative music styles.

Yeah, that was probably a bogus argument. So sorry for that.
But when it comes to being able to reach a large audience, I can't imagine a band like Rammstein not having trouble with TV etc in the US. Their whole image is in complete contradiction with the FCC.
I find the keine lust video kinda creepy. And not in the usual good Rammstein creepy way like a tranny keyboard player doing chicks in a vid. Great music though.
I wonder, how much of the German do you still grasp?

Part of it. I can get a general gist, but there are many words I don't know.
re: the FCC, I don't think that's really it. They don't typically care about musical performances, unless you're killing animals or doing something else to break the law. I'm not sure why Rammstein doesn't come to the US. I guarantee we have bands that are even more controversial, everything from skinhead nazi crap to 'kill the white people' rap to 'kill everyone' death metal. And Gwar... you can't forget about Gwar.

To be honest though I like Rammstein I wouldn't have particularly chosen to go to their concert either, but Mole had tickets so I thought why not. I'm gonna be the odd one out. Standing section and I don't mosh! hehe. Very few people I'd bother to see actually, I find most bands can't actually perform without their expensive, sound altering equipment
People I would love to see/have seen:
Green Day - seen
Nickelback - seen and seeing again 17/01/10!
Muse - seeing in Sept
Linkin Park - not that fussed, my fave band but doubt they're great live
My best concerts have been local bands with people I know:
The Atats - listen to their stuff here unfortunately they don't exist any more; they were working on a record deal when the vocalist was killed in a car accident last June They're all split up and working on their own seperate bands now
City Hero - this guy called Guy worked with Mole and has an album on Amazon that I bought. The song What I Became on their myspace page features in Moles latest CoD video as well
And I just discovered Seasick Steve thanks to Top Gear, he kicks ass! Go Youtube him if you like a bit of blues with an awesome sound.

Muse is an amazing live band, but I felt their music went a bit to the "meh" side lately. But Supermassive Black Hole was still pretty cool.
Seasick Steve is being indie-alternative hyped a bit over here too, but can't say i know him.
Indie fun: Los Campesinos with 'Broken Heartbeats sound like Break Beats'

And Johnny Cash' cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt". Cuts through your heart, so well done. Somehow appropriate that a Trent Reznor song would end up with a man like Cash.

Johnny Cash covered a lot of 'modern' songs (seeing as he's been dead for awhile). He did a cover of Rusty Cage by Soundgarden that's pretty good too.
