Same here...I was like "why does he mention that he watched it for 88 minutes?"

Well, it was a nice film, but here's the rating:

Watchable and correct, but ultimately not intelligent. Not bad.

Only Derf would give a decent movie a rating of 40%. I guess we should be glad he's not teaching school... none of his kids would pass, ever.

lol @ that pic. You should really start a blog and use it for proper reviews.

Oops, someone beat you to the punch:

Derf would probably sell the children he was teaching to to Marco in exchange for cash. They're freaky like that. :P

we watched a few movies recently of varying quality, so a quick synopsis

Zombieland 4/5 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1156398/
Pretty good movie, freakin' hilarious. I'd consider it a cross of Shaun of the Dead and Left4Dead for some reason. Good stuff, I'd recommend it.

Pandorum 3/5 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1188729/
Not bad, actually. I was expecting it to be crap, but it surprised me. Check it out if you get a chance and want a nice sci-fi horror movie.

9 4/5 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472033/
Pretty good. Pretty damned dark, considering it's about puppets.

Jennifer's Body 2/5 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1131734/
Yea, not so great. The only good part was the fact that Megan Fox is hot and is partially nude and making out with another chick. Hawt. That gave it the second star... otherwise it was pretty crap

2012 2/5 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190080/
Yea, not so good. Pretty lame for the most part, but mass amounts of people getting wiped out is good for a second star.

2012 Supernova 1/5 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1479847/
Yea, horrible. Seriously. Avoid like the plague.

Drag me to Hell 2/5 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1127180/
Yea, pretty bad. The only reason I give it 2/5 is because it was better than 2012 supernova. But not by much. It was also pretty gross. Not so much into the grossness thing.

Yea, been watching a lot of movies lately.

Want to see Zombieland and 9...maybe Pandorum. Both 2012 sucking doesn't really surprise me, but I had some hopes for Jennifer's Body, what with Diablo Cody writing it and the over-the-top plot and all.

Paranormal Activity is great too, btw, if you're into psychological and suggestive horror (not the squishy grossfest of Drag me to Hell).

Oh, forgot to mention that we watched

Gamer 3.5/5 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1034032/
Was totally expecting this to suck total and complete ass. Seriously. I was in it for the inevitable carnage and violence. So it shocked me when it was actually somewhat decent. I was torn between giving it a 3 and a 4, so Shiny, in her infinite wisdom, told me to award a 3.5. I may be overvaluing it, but having gone in expecting 1/5, I was pretty impressed.

Haha, yeah, Gamer is ok. I wouldn't quite give it a 3.5 though...it's good, with some brilliant moments/ideas (and the lovely, lovely FPS gaming references like the teabagging), but there are a ton of extremely weak scenes in there too. And the plot completely unravels towards the end. The last 15 minutes are a parade of total wtf's and plot holes.

(and I liked the twin girls  )

lol, yea, the tea-bagging was awesome and definitely contributed to the final score. Same with the twin boobs.

The nine was good in a different way. Its a different kind of movie.

I've seen the 2000 version of SuperNova http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1084878-supernova/

It's as bad as the Rotten Tomatoes rating.

Saw "The Final Castle" on tv, with Robert Redford and Gandolphini. Despite the critics i find this a must see for any military movie fan.

I kinda agreed with the critics. The whole concept of a court-martialled general inciting a riot with prison thugs against a crooked jail boss is just...wha? I don't think a 4-star general would last very long in a real slammer once they found out who he is/was. I don't need to tell you that the interests of an average con are...disappointing.

I forgot to say I saw Avatar a few weeks ago. Not the greatest movie of all time (half of it is so predictable it hurts), but what it does, it does extremely well. And the final 1/4th of the movie is a complete visual violence orgasm. :D You really need to go see it in 3D.

My rating: 4/5
Derf rating: 1/5 for the effort

Haha, well i heard good things about it in 3D, so I should get my butt down and watch it. Saying that, there are also a few other flicks out soon that seem interesting. Perhaps we could be in for a Jadorific month.
