This is pretty much how things work between me and my brothers...only, I go on to own the game too instead of just explaining the story.

I gave my middle brother Rome: Total War + Barbarian Invasion for his laptop. He's playing it religiously, but it's fucking EXCRUCIATING to see him play. He just...sucks. Well, rather, he doesn't know wtf he's doing and usually just scrapes by. I try to explain to him the point of the senate, of diplomacy, of tearing down foreign temples so you can build your own, of using sap points instead of ramming through the front gates and getting hosed by boiling oil, of family trees...gah. The only thing he wants is seeing the world map turn more blue, tho. And I think he auto-resolved every battle after playing the first 2 and losing one. :?

Other highlights:

- Conquering provinces on a thin strip AROUND Julii territory, even though I'd told him 20 times already that they were eventually going to turn on him and cut him off from his provinces the moment they could. Of course, when that finally happened he was pissed off with the game.

- In the same vein as above: stationing too little (and obsolete) troops in his two cities on the Italian peninsula, which resulted in him getting kicked off it completely by a horde of Brutii the moment the senate declared him an enemy of rome.

- Five (5!) failed expeditions into Egypt with 2 or 3 full stack armies. He INSISTED on travelling through the desert because he was afraid his invasion fleet would be sunk by the (granted, vast) Gyppo fleet. I told him time and time again that the only way to topple those nasty Gyppo's is by making a full-fledged landing into their heartland (memphis and Alexandria), but only after the 5th attempt would he listen.

I could go on, but I'll spare you for now. :P He's just been declared enemy of Rome and his power is crumbling completely. He's been kicked off Italy and he can't spare the money or armies to succesfully finish off the Gyppo's anymore in the East, the Julii have cut him off from his Northern provinces and are taking Gaul by storm and most of Spain is rebelling. His seat of power is now limited to Sicily and Cartaghe. It's awesome.

Not exactly hilarious, but a fun (and old) protest action.

The result is a mutant colony of Barbies-on-steroids who roar things like "Attack!" "Vengeance is mine!" and "Eat lead, Cobra!" The emasculated G. I. Joe's, meanwhile, twitter, "Will we ever have enough clothes?" and "Let's plan our dream wedding!"

lol. They should have an Xbox achievement 'OCD freak' for anyone who 'achieves' at least 90% of the achievements in all their games. :P

achievements really are for OCD people. I thought I was bad.

Anyway, check this out... this is the guy that did the announcer voice from Mortal Combat. He did some different phrases for Maxim. The graphic on the left is interactive.. just click on the phrase to hear him say it.
