Russian man wins chess-boxing championship

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23 ... 09,00.html

Chess boxing is apparently a mixture of...well...Chess and boxing.

Quote:
The match began over a chess board set up on a low table in the middle of a boxing ring.

Stripped to the waist, wearing towels around their shoulders and headphones playing the lulling sound of a moving train to drown out the baying crowd, the men played for four minutes.
Then off came their reading glasses and on went the gloves and the mouthguards.

For three minutes they beat each other and then, when the bell went, the chess board was back in the ring and they picked up the gentlemanly game where they had left off.

Chess-boxing is awesome. You should pick up the graphic novel by Enki Bilal which 'invented' the sport, if you can. It's a masterpiece (well, the entire trilogy is - it's the final part).

I found a few old RTW funnies lying around on my HD

heh...apparently Jesse Jackson (crazy black religious/political leader) said that he wanted to cut off Barrack Obama's nuts on national television. Barrack Obama is a presidential candidate, for anyone not up on US politics.

There's a video a bit down the page of this link.

Muah, he wasn't that great. This piece isn't bad, but there are plenty of better and more interesting composers.

De gustibus non est disputandum, although I can hardly name anyone who knew or know the symphony orchestra better than him. Can you?

To stick to the topic:

The ending is what matters. :P The rest was bore, at least for me.
