Looks good!
Are you putting your hands on that too? (other than wheelbarrow work?)
What size is it? How many bedrooms?
Will the outer walls have the same finish as the house to the left?

Anyway, if I was buildnig my house I'd prefer a bit more extravagant architecture (nothing more expensive, but different). But of course congrats that it is (as I see now) starting to look like a house.
Still I'd prefer living in an apartment. And high.

If you don't have the skills to build a house, don't build it. That's my motto.
Outer walls are as they will remain, black/grey. Roof will be black.
3 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs, small attic ... dunno the dimensions out of my head. It's not a big house (to belgian standards, dunno about other countries), but big enough for us.
And Ox, i am. But definitely not moneywise.
I've been living in an apartment for a couple of years, i prefer houses over apartments. More privacy, less noise. More room. And i think you'll be needing a huge apartment if you're getting kids.

I guess both depend on the country, state or even city: (1) ability to live in a house and still have a job that requires high degree - I mean being able to travel efficiently without requiring to have your private air transport (2) average size of apartment. If you are going to be in the civilization here i.e. not to spend a whole treasure in money and time on traveling from outside the city to your job, you are going to be in an apartment. About space: nah, I spent my youth living with my brother in a room where both of us can hardly move asses, it's the doom of southeastern Europe I guess. And be you concerned with the privacy (who cares about that, heh), you better have your apartment soundproofed. Even with a larger apartment, it all might still be cheaper than living in a house on a longer run...
- Extension / Explanation -
... Having on mind in most every case you have to carry out attaching electrical energy, canalization, water etc. if you are building home on a cheap terrain (wanna more expensive? better go for fully equipped appartment). Heh... when I think about it, better is to buy a house. The doom of southeastern Europe, I say.
My trade... put it all on paper and then order it in a simplex. The truth is inevitable!

Blow me, I got to plague the topic with this:
/me bets (not much) `Ox would like a house that looks like a daedric shrine. Hm... doable. But I bet (much) the neighbors would sue him for making the town uglier "with... with... *THAT*". At least that's what I would expect in any town in US. He'd just need to start breeding razorbacks and the whole place would even get the smell of Scamps.
How about having kids who don't want to go out of mud? Go there and catch them.

Your house is starting to look like a house, J. Grats. I'm sure you're excited...I know I sure as hell would be. And I agree that houses > apartments, at least in most of the US. Then again, we have plenty of space for houses and suburbs.

Every (or at least almost every) American has a car, and can finance the fuel I guess.

yes, most of our cities were built with cars considered. Plenty of highways and large streets to support everyone driving to work and back. Of course, traffic keeps getting worse, but whatever. Personally I'd prefer a more robust public transportation system, but whatever.
