Philip Glass did a bunch of movie soundtracks. If you like the semi-classical, I recommend checking him out. He did the music for Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqtsi and Naqoyqatsi, if anyone's ever seen those. They're pretty much underground films but are really cool if you can get your hands on them. I don't think the last one's been released on DVD yet.

nope, you're right. It's not really a "movie" since it doesn't really have any actors, plot, dialogue, etc. Just a series of moving images with some cool music.
