I'd be happy with McFlurries raining down from the sky! It was -7 today when I got up at 7am, got up to a massive 2 degrees earlier though. Not that you can tell in this flat, I left a small chicken fillet out to defrost at 10am and now, at 6pm, it's still half frozen.

I get kinda tired of being cold. My office is always freezing, my house is cold due to the expensive of heating... the only place I'm ever warm is my car.

According to forecasts it's supposed to snow most of today. Bring it on!

Snowed again yesterday evening, causing my train to fail. Ah well, I stilll like winter better than summer...people don't get all up in my shit and question my habit of staying home alone and watching movies/gaming in temperatures like these.
@ 11B: while I'm anything but a Global Warming Believer, cold winters don't necessarily disprove the idea of it. Not every region on earth would necessarily become warmer, especially not in the short run.

Just a small addition on the 'not global warming' thing:
this year the average temperature in Belgium was 11.0 °C. The average is 9.7 or so. And the last ten years it's always been above the average.
Not so happy with all the snow lately, driving around in it can be a b*tch.

Seems weather is being weird, it's currently hitting 7, 8, 9 and 10 degrees in Vancouver with no snow!
As for Walsall and West Bromwich though... we got snow! Here's a picture out of my flat taken at 8pm this evening, including our town christmas 'tree'. It's still snowing, supposed to continue tomorrow, stop Thursday and then snow more Friday. Hooray!

damn, that's cool. It's just cold here. On Friday the high is supposed to be 25 F (-4 C) with a low of 13 F (-10 C). Man, wtf... I just hope it rains or something so I don't have to go to work.

Supposed to freeze here Thursday and Friday. If it rain, which is possible, we will get snow.

Lmao. I know that's like having 40 C° here, which would also cripple public life, but just the idea of being left off the hook for not getting to work at - 7 C° ish is hilarious. I'm guessing there are no regular salting services in Texas?

They don't salt the road here. They'll put down sand/gravel if it comes down to it, but that's of limited use if there's too much ice/snow. Also, our roads are built for rain... ie, they're all sloped outward toward the rain gutters and whatnot. Works great when it's raining for keeping the road dry, not so great when there's a sheet of ice over the road and you're trying not to run into a curb.

Nah not here Derf, stuck in the West Midlands we're probably the least snowy place in the UK at the moment! We've still managed about 4 inches though. So about the same as you I guess.
My parents are coming back from France tonight, well driven halfway up it already and then driving to Zebrugge tomorrow, catch a ferry to Hull overnight and land Friday morning. Just as it's due to snow again for 3 days straight! And Yorkshire is already pretty screwed up as far as snow goes, they're into having a foot of it in some places. Dread to think what the North York Moors look like.
Wish I was up there.

Not that it's any of my business Pev, but wouldn't most retired British with a house in the Provence leave for France during the winter instead of returning there?
