I'm with you on that, I always stick a jumper on first. Thankfully my wife is a very warm blooded person, she hates it hot.

The companies over here are bastards, you move in, they take a meter reading, then all bills are estimated usage.

So in other words if you just pay the bill and not keep an eye on usage if you are actually using more than the estimated amount you have a deficit that needs paying. :?

And the fuckers usually want it like NOW!

yea, that happens here too. Our energy bill tends to be fairly high (air conditioning in Texas in the summer... go figure). Totally sucks. We've been working at reducing it, though.

But 1,700 pounds or whatever, that's crazy.

Yo people! I is back! Not that you all care... Anyway, replaced the PSU and it all booted up good and well without too many hiccups. With the change that I'd saved up, I also bought on of these

Shiny, Ox, J and I are on the PC version. I'm guessing the two versions don't play together so you best get the PC version. :P

Why on earth would anyone want to play a game like L4D on a console anyway? :o I mean, if you could choose.

Yo Mole, long time no see. Good to hear your pc is alive again. :)

Because I prefer to game on consoles than PC's generally speaking, but also enjoy PC gaming. Let's not start this again!

So, how are you all my lovelies?

Tracking vs Sniping. Close quarters combat is better on a console, sniping is technically better on a PC - though it doesn't make much difference to me on a console ;)

And thanks :D

It might not matter much gameplaywise (ie in having fun with the game) but imho console shooting -in the traditional FPS sense- doesn't come close to the pc at any level, whether we're talking fast assault combat or precision sniping. My brother plays COD 4 and 5 on his Xbox 360 and it is fun, but having a great pc upstairs I immediately see the the problems consoles have with the games. Graphics are inferior on console (by now) and the mouse offers so much more control than the gamepad when targeting. The fact that targeting assistance is turned on on default on most console shooters says enough, really.

Don't get me wrong, consoles have their merits. I don't see myself ever playing a sports game or pure racing game on the PC anymore, console dominates those. Action/adventure games involving melee weapons typically feel a lot better on console too.

But pure shooters are inferior on consoles. Games like GoW, GTA IV and Mass Effect all have intricate 'cover' systems for that exact reason: they compensate the lack of twitch control by making the player run from cover to cover and firing at the enemy from there. There usually aren't any crosshairs, instead 'dots' with a general area of impact are used - because most people wouldn't be able to hit much on a crosshair using a gamepad.

RPG's suffer from similar issues, but not so much because of technical limitations. I don't know WHY they do it, but developers are stripping down RPG systems by the title and ever since big titles went multiplatform the trend seems to take even more. Mass Effect, for all its awesomeness, barely leaves you any real choices at character creation outside of your class (and there are 'only' 7 of those). That's a long way from Morrowind, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and so forth.

It's all a matter of how it affects the individual. I'm much better at FPS's on console than PC :) If someone is running literally circles around me, a mouse just doesn't cut it. Where as a persistent, speed variable tracking system does :)

I wonder which is more popular though, CoD4 360 or CoD4 PC?
