meh im for it. much as i hate the government, its probably a good thing. make it easier to find stolen cars (til ppl figure out how to disable the trackers of course) and also to find all those people with a car parked on their drive that "swear it never left me drive in 3 years mate!" even though it was driving down the motorway with no car tax last tuesday...

well, to each their own. I suppose the world is becoming used to the idea of being monitored all the time. Maybe I'm just a throwback to an earlier, simpler time, when men were men and Jedi wore kilts.

When did they do that? Anyway there is a slight problem in the fact that the goverment doesn't seem to trust us (I can understand why) and its that what the people are protesting about.

if the government can't trust us, why do we trust them? Then again, noone seems to trust the general populace any more. Myself included.

"Oh, you don't trust us? FINE! I'll give you all a reason not to trust us! Then you'll see how benevolent we used to be!"

I have read to many books like brave new world to trust a government keep in mind goverment is meant to be the voice of the people not to be a voice on their own. If we as the people decided we needed to have people hold our hands and video tape us then sure fine but myself I would prefer my privacy. When government becomes to intrusive into peoples lives revolt happens - check your history if you question me.

Actualy the opposite is probably just as viable, French Revolution compared to the October Revolution. You could also say that the distance between government and people is another factor.

You could call the French revolution a result of government interference. Taxes and government policy screwed up the economy and then the government ignored it.
Anyway, I think there are many causes for revolution besides government meddling in private affairs. However, what they all boil down to is pissing off a big enough section of the populace to support a revolt

But the remoteness of the nobility was a big factor in the French Revolution
