Well if even Satis like Interview with the Vampire (and Shiny isn't entirely convinced) it clearly musn't be a girly show Not that I would above watching those anyway....
I've been watching Blue Eyed Samurai on Netflix, an animated series based on an anime and it's SO good. Like...insanely good. The action, the story, the characters, it's all top notch. I'm surprised at how much I'm liking these anime-based shows lately, like this and One Piece. Maybe they're still holding on to something artistic or genuine that isn't just focus tested shit for max safe profit like a lot of Western TV shows these days? I dunno.

Re: TV series
I watched Blue eye Samurai. It was very very good. It's difficult convincing Shiny to watch anime, so she hasn't seen it. I did finally get her to watch Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which she liked. If you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend it. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, Chainsawman is actually surprisingly good. Not for the action, which is a bit over the top and blah, but for the story and characterization.
Looks like I haven't posted in this thread for a while.
Bodies was good. If you haven't seen it I'd recommend it. It doesn't quite wrap up all the loose threads, but it does surprisingly well.
Fallout - Oh man, this was good. I REALLY enjoyed this show. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you do.
Shogun - Very good. Shiny liked it better than Fallout, though more of the dialog is in Japanese than English (or whatever localization you prefer). So be prepared to read.
The Bear - watched this recently, about a Michelin-star chef that returns to Chicago to run his dead brother's sandwich shop. Pretty good. It took Shiny a bit to get into it, but she liked it. Not as amazing as either of the previous 2.
I've watched a few other shows, but none are particularly great. That includes Demon Slayer (anime), the dragon prince (anime), Yellowstone (Kevin Costner), and Outer Range (in progress, verdict still out).

Speaking of the dragon prince, there's an interesting reference to Twin Peaks during one of the episodes. This is pretty much a kid's show, so it's pretty cool.

Hahaha that's awesome. If you ever need to kill 4 hours btw...
I'm considering getting an HBO Max Subscription now that it's available in Belgium. I'm mostly interested in shows like Shogun, House of the Dragon etc, but how is the rest of their catalog? I tried finding info online but it's surprisingly difficult. Does anyone here have a subscription and if so, can you tell me what their movie catalog is like?

We decided to randomly give this a go. 100% agree with you, fantastic from the first episode. Probably helps that I've never really played Fallout (unless you count a couple of hours of #1 as playing it) so there was no chance to get butthurt about anything that might have been changed, but I really enjoyed it. The characters are really well written, it's easy to understand and get to grips with the world without having hours of dialogue to explain things to you and I really liked how they have the 3 storylines that meet, split off, then meet again.

Re: TV series
There is a show on Amazon Prime called Cross. It's about a detective Alex Cross and a serial killer. I think the lead and the villain were very well cast and their acting is surprisingly good. I was entertained and it is worth a watch.
One of the directors is Director X but don't let that discourage you.

Director X?
I watched The Penguin recently. It's pretty decent... not a superhero show really, more like a crime show. It's got some really poorly though-out parts, but overall it's pretty good. I'd recommend watching it if you get the chance.
Terminator Zero was great, if you like yourself some Terminator and are cool with anime.
A Gentleman in Moscow follows a Russian aristocrat that's put under house arrest in a hotel following the Russian revolution. It's pretty good, but also quite sad (duh, it's set in Russia).
