ok, having imbibed more, I can't say I'm digging it so much. It's awfully sweet.

Blasphemer!

I actually drank Gulden Draak yesterday as well. It's very different compared to must heavy beers indeed. Guess it's a matter of taste.

Indeed, to each their own. I don't regret trying it (I've had far, far worse), but I don't think I'd drink it again.

On a side note, we finished our keg of shiner black

and are now working on a keg of shiner bock

Shiner Bock is good beer...better than most. :) And J, I like Gulden Draak, but not as much as you. I couldn't drink it every day. ;) (just kidding...I hope)

You know what I recently found out thanks to my brother? That in a 5-minute walk from my new flat there is a tavern/restaurant that a) specializes in Moortgat beers, having them all bottled and quite a fe won draft and b) cooks using Moortgat beers. :o Mind you, they're not very fancy dishes, but hot-damn.

Duvel, Chouffe, Palm, Rodenbach, Maredsous...*dribbles*

I went there with a friend yesterday, tried a few beers and had some beer-based food. We left in high spirits (in more ways than one).

As long as you don't end in a ditch with your bike.

I sure hope not, since the grassy ditches of my rural hometown have been replaced with yacht docks where I'm living now.

To get from the Duvel-restaurant to my apartment I have to ride all around this dock.

So yeah...better take the wide turns when drunk.
