  Gas heated to 2billion KCheck it out...some peeps at Sandia National Lab have managed to heat a gas to 2 Billion degrees Kelvin... or 3.6 billion degrees F. And they don't know how it happened.
It's kinda buried in the article, but supposedly more energy was released from the reaction than put in, which is always nice. And there's speculation that some new sort of power source has been tapped into.
